Auto Parts: 96 Nissan Sentra GXE Door Locks, nissan sentra gxe, nissan sentra

My boyfriend has a 96 Sentra and he is having a problem with the door locks.  They lock randomly on their own.  He likes to leave his keys in the car because its easier when he is at work and has twice no had the keys locked in the car because of this problem.  Today at work he decided to put his keys in his pocket and when he came out to his car during his break the doors again were locked.  Any thoughts?

Sorry for the delayed response.
This could be likely one of two problems- either a stuck button or a short. The stuck button could be a button in one of the doors or if you have a keychain button it could be stuck.
The short could be in the whole system or in one of the doors.
That electric stuff can be touchy sometimes, and when it goes wrong it's a real pain.
