Car Alarms: Installing a aftermarket remote start to a factory car alarm

Question
Am I better off having a Remote Start/Car alarm hooked to my 03 ford explorer factory alarm or having just the aftermarket alarm installed and unhook the factory alarm?  I want to be able to just use the Remote Start key fob for everything.  Thank you, Tim

Answer
You can do either. Just know you will be limited to
the range of the OEM-Factory remote when using the remote starter.
I sell those units here for 80.00

If you go the other way, and add after market, you would get range,
and be able to control all the locks etc...but just know either
way you go, you will need a Ford transponder bypass kit to start
the engine remotely (89.95 + whatever starter kit you want.)

If not certain you can do it even with step by step notes and instruction,
then by all means hire a good technician to do this for you.

Hoped this helped some.
