Car Alarms: Changing Car Battery, valet mode, resident technicians

Hi, I am trying to change my car battery and when I am unhooking the battery, the alarm is chirping at me and goes off, even when the alarm is disabled. Is there something I can do to either turn off the alarm until I get the battery in or put on valet mode or what? Of course I don't have the manuel so I don't know how to do any of this.  I'm not even sure the model number of the alarm.  It's the remote start alarm with the lcd remote.  Thanks for your help.
