Car Alarms: disconnecting car alarm for 1996 honda accord, alarmtek, wire colors

i bought a 1996 Honda accord and it has an alarm installed and i do not have the remote to control the alarm. my battery connection was loose and rest the alarm. now my car will not start. i was told to disconnect the brown wire from the brain box and reconnect it to the ignition. will this work or is there a better way to do this.???
