Car Alarms: KARR Security Systems High Performance Series 3, karr security systems, representitive

I recently purchased a Jeep with a preinstalled KARR system. I did not opt to purchase the alarm and in 5 seconds, they snapped on a "De-Activation Key Pack." It is basically a small module/chip that snapped on a docking station while the engine was running. If this is removed, while this activate the system or screw things up? Thanks in advance.
