Car Alarms: 2003 Honda Civic LX, entry transmitters, bells and whistles

Question
We just purchased a 2003 Honda Civic LX. It has 2 keyless entry transmitters with it. When we lock or unlock the doors we don't hear any sound or see lights flash, the doors do lock. A woman in the service dept. at the Honda dealership said this model Honda has no alarm on it so the horn wont honk or lights wont flash when locking doors. When you push the panic button the lights flash and the horn sounds. Is she right? I feel like she was in a hurry and didn't want to deal with it. But I could be wrong. Help!!! Thanks!

Answer
Well, she's half right. :>/

This car has a remote that will panic the horn
and unlock the door like you said, and it has an
immobilizor in the ignition switch. However,
They do not work together. So, in essence she's right,
but the car is still secure. Just not all of the bells
and whistles or "on demand" starter kill, siren,
and other add on visual deterents.

The only way to start this car is to have the proper key
so you see, you do have a limited security system,
if not elaborate.

I hope this helped a bit.
