Car Alarms: Chapman car alarm nuisance, resident technicians, embarassing moments

Question
I have a Chapman alarm installed in a 2000 Ford Truck that I purchased.  After about 10 seconds after shutting off the ignition, the alarm will automatically alarm itself.  Many embarassing moments of opening the door after this happens to the sound of a very loud alarm.  I'm about ready to unplug the alarm and remove it.

How do I turn this "auto" alarm setting off?  Thanks for any help you can provide.

system you are working with to advise
you properly on it's functions,
features or trouble shooting
information. Better to check with a tech
that might.
