Car Alarms: car alarms, hyundai elantra, car alarms

Question
I have a 2006 hyundai elantra.  i have lost my alarm remote, and only have a spare key.  i unlock the door and the alarm goes off when i open it.  i tried to start it but it seems to have a security feature which prevents it.  how can i get around this???

Answer
Please try to locate the valet switch
to overide the alarm.

If you would read some of the previous
posts I made on this subject, you will
see the procedure to toggle into and out
of valet/override mode. It allows
you to set and reset the starter kill mechanism
as well as all other standard alarm features.

This should also apply to yours.

Good luck with it. Should do the trick.
