Car Alarms: vw golf alarm problems, vw golf 1, alarmtek

Question
QUESTION: i have a vw golf 1.6 s reg. The alarm is giving me problems. It isn't responding to remotes and after charging battery now there is no sound but the light continue to flash as if the alarm were on. Now the car will drive but all lights will be flashing. How can i turn these lights off to drive normally?

ANSWER: Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.

QUESTION: there is no siren or noise going off but left and right arrows in dash are flashing. all Indicator lights are all flashing. There a red alarm next to the hazard button which may indicate alarm is still on?

Answer
Sorry about this, but VW will need to get into
your car's OEM security system codes to reset
and reprogram your key. I have no idea how
it lost original programming, but the factory
alarm and everything you are experiencing is
because of it.

Once they get the chance to put it on the
code reader / programmer, you should have
full control again.
