Car Alarms: 98 isuzu trooper alarm, automatic door locks, isuzu trooper

Question
QUESTION: I have a 98 Isuzu trooper and last night at 3a.m. The alarm kept going off. Not like someone breaking in, but, as if it was the one beep as you were locking the car.My husband took out the fuse to the horn and the alarm so we could sleep and this morning before work he started it to make sure that it didn't drain the battery. He left me a note saying for now he just disconnected the battery til he gets home. Have any ideas of why this would just start??? Our neighbors have gotta love our alarm malfunction butts! Thanks in advance.

ANSWER: Hey Ms. G.,
I would need to inspect the system
to nail down the trouble. But let's see....

Can you tell me what alarm you have there?

QUESTION: It's a factory alarm system so I really couldn't answer that....sorry
ANSWER: Hmmmm,
Ok, I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Many veriables on this vehicle &
I Require a bit more imput please.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

QUESTION: None of the above. It's only beeping as if you were just setting the alarm to lock the doors. Only one beep.I just went outside and reconnected the battery and I took out the fuse that said automatic door locks and now you of course have to manually lock the doors.I'm checking to see if I hear any beeping

Answer
The trouble here for you is that the factory alarm
requires that you physically have to lock or unlock the doors
to arm and disarm the system. If malfunctioning,
you would need to get it over to Isuzu and have them
put it on a diagnostic to find the fault and reset.

If it were aftermarket, you could go into and
out of over ride/service mode, but I can not tell
from here if it is or not.

Do you have a remote? if so, go to
www.remotesunlimited.com and use the
FCC ID# on the back to identify what system
you have. That might help me more.
