Chrysler Repair: cable from the shifter to the transmission, auto manuals, ebay

I have a 2003 PT Cruiser automatic. For a while now, it has been really hard to move the shifter when its cold. Yesterday morning I went to put it in reverse and I heard a crunch and the lever now moves freely, but will not shift out of park. I am assuming it is the cable from the shifter to the transmission. How hard is it to change out that cable and is there any place I can go to get a picture of how it hooks up and possibly directions for it. Also, if you can think of any thing else the problem might me, I would really appreciate any suggestions.

Sorry to say I don't have a PT Cruiser manual so I can't give you any help. I found your question in the "pool" so if you originally asked the other 'expert', Kevin, then he presumable also couldn't help. Other than going to a library and look at their collection of auto manuals, you could buy a usen manual on eBay.
