Car Alarms: Alarm system on 97 toyota tacoma, valet mode, alarmtek

Changed oil and cleaned my battery terminals. Now my horn sounds off when I try to start the truck. To make matters worse, i disconnected the battery and let set. (My securikey is broken at this point.)After hooking up the battery now the horn does not sound off(light is flashing). Now I have purchased a new securikey with instructions. The instruction in the programming manual states that you push the red button on the dash to reset. On my truck i have a switch on the side panel under on the drivers side close to the fire wall. Now with all that said how do I turn the system off so i can program the new key. This model is inbetween two systems and I have a switch, the light is not a button, or is it somewhere else.  Confused????? What am I missing?

Try putting into valet mode first...

It sounds to me like the instructions received are not
for the unit installed.  Without the proper
instructions there is no real way of knowing how to
work with the system.  SecuriKey is not a system I
have ever dealt with.  Maybe try and find a SecuriKey
dealer and see what they have for information.  Call
the people that you the new remote and
see what they can do for you for support/assistance.
