Car Alarms: Factory alarm = disabled Chrysler, dash area, button spring

Question
Hi i'm one stumped dude, a few weeks ago me and my bro installed a remote start into my 01 Chry Sebring we also hooked up the other buttons trunk, doors lock and unlock(proper diodes needed to be installed because of the one wire system). There is, to my knowledge no alarm system on the car, the key is black and has no chip in it. The remote start etc had been working great until my wife was sitting in the car i pushed the start button so it would stay running while i took the keys out(we had done this many times), she opened the window after i left and the car stopped running and the horn went off, signaled, i think, by the remote starter module. Now the remote start would not work, So i tried starting with the key, didn't work either, so i unlocked the door a bunch of times with the key, now the key will start the car, but there are power issues jerky wipers stereo power cuts in and out. So we unplug the remote start all together and it won't start at all. There is no power to the ignition at all, unless the Rem Strt module is plugged in. I've unplugged the battery for long periods, and left the ignition on with the key in for over an hour. The check engine light is on so i scanned it and erased it but i don't know what the code is its not in my scanner book. Its seems that the car thinks it was tampered with and will not let itself be started. Please help

Answer
Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the
valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and reset
the grounded relay on the starter wire,
allowing you to start the engine.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

That should do it.

But if it's the "smart key" system,
Then you will have to circumvent it.

Try this:
Reset the aftermarket alarm by valet.
Then put the key IN the ignition.
Then try to remote start. If it does,
you are dealing with a bypass issue.

(and PS. the is also a factory alarm that
arms and disarms with the locking and unlocking,
arming and disarming) of the doors.

It's entirely possible that when
you did the door locks, you might have missed
this and it's now in armed mode. If you
still have the remote from the Sebring (OEM),
please try to use it to reset.

Good luck.
