Car Alarms: 99 yukon keyless entry problem, fuse panel, gm dealer

Question
Ok i have a 99 yukon. im not sure but i think i damaged my oem keyless entry.it could have been done due to a negative/possitive connection done accidently. so now my OEM keyless remote does not work and the bad thing is that the driver side door lock from the switch but does not want to unlock from the unlock switch. i have to pull it  manually. now it locks ok and another thing i notice is that when i press the lock/unlock switch, the dome light  turns on for that quick second i press the switch compare to before were it use to stay on for a few sec. well let me know if there is a simple solution to this problem and do i have to replace something from  my vehicle. its such an inconvenience to be opening my door with the key  all the time

Answer
The factory key less on your truck is controlled by the BCM, not a separate key less entry module.  This module is under your steering column with the harnesses facing the back of the truck.  Let's hope there is nothing fried in the BCM as this would be a pricey repair.

Two things I would recommend trying are:

1.  Check all of the fuses in the truck to ensure none are blown.  Check all the fuses, both in the fuse panel in the truck and under the hood at the power distribution center.

2.  Disconnect your battery for 10 minutes to allow the BCM to completely reset.

If neither of these take care of the problem, the only option I see left is to take the truck to a GM dealer and have the BCM replaced.
