Car Alarms: alarms, fcc number, remotes

Bought 1997 Jeep. found alarm after noticing led light. When re connected alarm goes off but obviously I have no remote.The only markings I can find are an fcc number. Can I order a remote using that  and from where?  thanks

You can certainly try. Go to either

www.remotesunlimited.com

www.keylessride.com
or
www.autotechs.com

and follow the directions to ID the alarm, and find
new remotes for it. Just a side note, you might
find it infinately cheaper and easier long run,
to replace the system with one you know so that it
does not pose any future issues. I can tell you that
you will be spending above retail for just the remotes.
