Car Stereos: DVD, rear seat entertainment system, overhead dvd player

I have an '04 Ford Explorer with a Pioneer AVH-P4100 Head unit installed and still have the Factory Installed Rear Seat Entertainment System but it does not work. How do I get this to work without messing up the front head unit in the process?  Thanks

Hi Chris,

Metra makes a RSE integration harness that I think should work for your Explorer.  The part number is 70-5520AV, and you can find it at a number of online vendors.  You won't retain some of the integration features that worked with the factory head unit, but it should be enough to let you power up the overhead DVD player and operate it through the built-in controls, while listening to the audio through the new head unit.
