Car Stereos: car stereo, passat highline, antenna wire

hi my car is a 02 passat highline the stereo is working on am but is recieving no signal on fm also the cd player is clicking and spitting out the cds saying cd error. thank you

Michael,  The FM reception may just be a loose antenna wire.  Your radio only uses the antenna for FM, AM is received without the antenna.  If the antenna is securely attached, then you probably have a short inside the antenna wire.  Unfortunately, it is very difficult to replace an antenna wire, but it is the only way to fix it.  As for the cd player, it needs to be repaired professionally, and it that is the only way it will work properly.  It may be time to look for an aftermarket radio.  Hope this helps, Scott
