Car Stereos: 1995 grand am front door speaker sizing, pioneer speakers, factory speakers

Question
I just recently bought a pair of Pioneer TS-G4641R speakers to replace the front factory speakers that are blown in my 1995 grand am.  One website told me these 4x6 would fit in there, and another one said they would not.  Now I might be out some cash.

Think you could shed some light on whether they fit in the front door spaces or not?  And if no, could I get them to fit in some way?

Hi Bryant,

Those speakers should fit your car without a problem.  The Grand Am mounts 4x6" factory speakers in a plastic adapter.  In some cases it's necessary to cut away some plastic at the back of the adapter to make a bit more mounting depth, but with your Pioneer speakers, I don't think even that much modification will be necessary.  You should be fine.
