Car Stereos: sound system, alpine swe, channel power amplifier

Question
i have two 10 inch Alpine SWE-1043 subwoofers i need to know whats the best amp and cheepest amp that i can get to power them to thier full potentiel. the amp i do hav is a alpine 5/4/3 channel power amplifier MRV-f450 and it shuts off to much. like i dont have enough watts or something. wats the best amp to power my subs?

Answer
Hi Jordan,

Your subs are each 4 ohms, so when you combine two of them the result is a 2-ohm load.  Since the subs' rated power is 250 watts RMS each, you'll want to look for an amp that can produce between 300 and 500 watts RMS into a 2 ohms.  One amp that would match up very well is Alpine's MRP-M500.  You can find it for under $200 from a wide range of vendors.

Hope this helps!
