Chrysler Repair: 300M rear door lock actuator, latch motor, silicone lubricant

Question
I have a similar problem with the rear door actuator on my 2000 Chrysler
300M.  I makes a horrible loud buzz whenever it goes down, either by
pressing a switch or going over 20 MPH.  I had a front door actuator replaced
when it didn't work a year or so ago that cost me about $350 total.  Since this
motor works but just makes that sound, my question is two-fold.  Can I get
the noise to go away by having the motor lubed or greased or something?  If
not, can I someway defeat or deactivate the motor so the noise goes away,
and I only open and lock the door manually?

Answer
Hi Robert,
You can try lubing the door latch/door lock motor mechanism by spraying some silicone lubricant via a spray can with strawtip applicator. Apply it to the latch tounge and pivot as best you can without removing the mechanism. Maybe that will work. If not, you will need to remove the door trim panel and disconnect the electrical plug at the latch mechanism inside the door if you want to kill the power door lock there. Let me know and I can tell you the steps to remove the trim panel. The motor is hard-wired to power lock relay so there is nothing to unplug except at the latch/motor inside the door.
