Car Stereos: Installing head unit in Dodge Durango, sony head unit, dodge durango

I have a 99 Dodge Durango that I am installing a Sony head unit in. When installed, the radio plays fine, but there is no sound when in cd, usb, or ipod mode. The display shows that the cds and usb functions are playing, but there is absolutely no sound. I am using a scoshe wiring adapter to install the unit. Any ideas?

Sound plays OK in radio but not CD/USB/iPod mode?  That is the weirdest thing I've ever heard in my entire life. :)

Anyway, first thing to try is to check if your deck has a 'source level adjustment' menu.  Some decks have the ability to change the volume level for different sources, and the default for those ones might be way down.  Beyond that, I don't even know what the issue could be as that is the weirdest thing I've ever heard of.
