Auto Racing: 1990s 300 ZX, sarasota florida usa, nissan 300zx

Question
I want to replace the engine on my 1994 Nissan 300ZX 2+2. The one it has now has may miles and it feels as if it lacks power. I want to know what would be the best (most powerful and fastest) engine to install. I was thinking of putting in a twin turbo from 300zx's of that time, I just dont know if that would be the best choice. For the engine I have about a 5,000 spending limit.

Answer
Hola Jose :

If you have $5000.00 to invest, perhaps the smartest thing you can do is have your existing engine rebuilt.  If you are in the US it will probably cost you about $3500.00 to have that done by a competent shop. Do NOT take it to a dealer, but DO ask around among friends, racers, and such as to who would do a good job for you.   Try to find someone who specializes in Nissan products.

While that's being done you can discuss with your mechanic the options of adding turbos , camshaft changes, stuff of that sort.

That's my best answer, good luck
