BMW Repair: 1998 BMW740 il, interior door panel, plastic bezel

i have a 1998 BMW 740il just recently my passenger door stopped opening i didn't wreck or damage it in any way it still unlocks and i can feel the cable pull when i pull the door knob but it just wont open

Something likely either stretched or got in the way of the mechanism.

See if it will open from the outside.

If you still can not get it open, remove the plastic bezel from around the door latch, and see if you can pull the cable attached to the handle to activate the door latch and open the door.

You are going to need to remove the inner panel from the door to see what is going on, and/or what is wrong with it.  There are fasteners at the door handle, and at the arm rest.  Remove those.

The bottom edge of the interior door panel is held on with plastic push/snap clips.  Pull the bottom of the panel away from the door frame.  Once all the fasteners and clips have been removed, the panel can be slid up and off.

If you aren't comfortable with this, take the car to a dealer.
