wont crank. its a 5 spd manual shift and i tried push starting
it and still nothing. No " check " lights on dash, or any
cautions or advisories. I'm clueless. can you help me?

Answer
Hi Clayton, we need to clarify your question.
Do you mean that the started is spinning when you turn the key but the engine is not moving/ cranking?

A low battery will make the starter make a rat atat sound, like a machine gun. Lets assume the battery is fully charged.

If so then the solenoid isn't engaging the flywheel. This means you will need a new starter. The good news is that the start signal is getting to the starter indicating the immobilize/alarm isn't the problem.

Not sure why it wont start from  push starting thou.
Get a diagnostic scanner on it, may have a crankshaft sensor fault, they don't always put on the engine management light.

Get the engine cranking and the fault codes read and we can go from there.
