BMW Repair: electrical problems, blown fuse, radio problem

hi
i have an e39 5 series, and the boot will not open remotely, rest of central locking is fine. boot will open with key. a day after the fault the audio head unit has stopped working, only the light on the head unit comes on when i turn the headlights on. are these faults related or just coincidence? from the wiring diagrams the audio and central locking seem to be separate circuits. no fuses have blown.
would appreciate any help

I'm not sure what a boot is but i guess its the trunk lid, sounds like you have a bad trunk lock actuator, the radio problem i don't think is related, what i see most for the radio is a blown fuse or a bad ignition switch, open and close the mirror on the sun visor driver side and see if the radio starts to operate if it does the ignition switch is bad, also don't forget there are fuses in the trunk on the right side..  Hope this helps....Thanks Nathan Babbitt (Babbitt Motor werks)
