BMW Repair: 1997 bmw 528i, blown head gasket, fan clutch

Question
I had a heater hose blow so I replaced it. The car was still overheating. The fan clutch was not working so I replaced it too. I changed the oil and gave it a tune up at the same time. It is still overheating (it isn't really overheating, but the sensor is telling me it is)and my oil has an egg white looking substance in it now, but it doesn't appear to have water in the oil. My check engine light came on and the code says misfire in the number 4 cylinder. What should I do now?

Answer
Its sounds like the car actually overheated and got hotter than you realized. it sounds like you either have a blown head gasket or a crack in the head. The reason the check engine light is coming on is because the center cylinders under  pressure are leaking coolant into the center combustion cylinders so that coolant in the cylinders causes the car to misfire and cause the check engine light to come on. the white egg like substance is what happens when coolant mixes with oil another sign of a blown head gasket or cracked head,     hope this helps.......    thanks Nathan Babbitt (Babbitt Motor Werks)
