BMW Repair: high beam not working, small screws, panel test

Question
Hi there, I have a 325i 1992 bmw, The dial all of a sudden will not turn around to full and high beam wont work, so they will only go on park. Is this likely to be a blown bulb, or something more serious?

Answer
Hello Donna,
If the light switch does not turn to all its positions, then
it is defective and should be replaced.
First buy the switch for initiating repairs without the replacement part is a waste of time and effort on your part.
Then remove driver's side lower dashboard cover(small screws have to be removed, and left upper side should be pried out carefully from clips).
Place masking tape on light switch knob and pull out.
Remove nut holding switch in place and pull out switch from
behind, remove connector and replace.
Make sure that groove of switch goes on into the retaining lug of panel.
Test switch. If ok, then re-install removed parts.
I hope I had been of help.
