BMW Repair: Locking Problem On 1992 BMW 325I, 1992 bmw 325i, internal fuse

Question
Hello,

I checked behind the drivers side door skin, around the speakers and I didn't find a module of any type. The manual I have says that the central locking module is supposidly located where I pulled the "ZV-Modul" out from. This is all quite confusing :-).

Thanks!
Zach

Hello,

Finally got the module out of the car (took awhile to find, ended up being behind the glove box). It is the 'ZV-Modul' part number 'BMW 61.35-1387961' correct? Well, assuming that is the correct module, I pulled it apart and it seems to be ok inside, nothing burnt. I don't see a solder link, but I might not exactly know what I'm looking for. The only thing I see that might be close is some kind of what appears to be copper wire (bar?) that runs across what would be the right side of the module (if the plugs are facing toward you). I also see a wire on the bottom, but it appears to be ok too. Any suggestions? Is it possible that something else is wrong with the module, or is it more likely something wrong with another part of the car? Thanks for your assistance!

Question -
I have a locking problem with my 1992 BMW 325i. All of the electric locks don't work. As a consiquence, I cannot get into my trunk or use the back doors because they are permenently locked. The front doors will unlock manually (i.e. using the key on the outside of the door), but won't unlock the other doors in the car. I've checked fuses and they are all good. I've heard there is a central module that controls all the locking and unlocking of the car and that could be the problem. Do you think this is the case? If so, where is this module located? Thanks for your time and expertise!

Answer -
Yes it does sound as if there is a problem with the locking module.I believe it is under the drivers side dash panel. It has an internal fuse(solder),You can repair it by taking the module apart and resolder the link

Answer -
I am not sure that is the correct module.I have read that it was behind the left front speaker.Could you check to make sure?

Answer
I think I would check to make sure each lock motor works (lock/unlocks) with battery voltage.See also if you try locking it and see if that there is power at the solenoids. With your manual if there is a wiring diagram follow each circuit to determine if it has the correct voltage
