GMC Repair: left signal switch, gmc safari, safari van

Hi. I have a 1994 GMC Safari van and the left signal switch does not cancel when the steering wheel is turned the opposite way. Do I need to replace the entire switch or can it be fixed?

Answer
Usually the little circular spring breaks and it can be replaced without replacing the whole turn signal assembly.

However: CAUTION: You have to pull the steering column and IF there is an AIR BAG on the steering wheel and you do NOT know how to de-activate BOTH battery supply voltgaes it can KILL you should it accidentally deploy.
