Audio Systems: Subwoofer Swap, car stereo system, logitech z 2300

Question
I have a subwoofer from a Logitech Z-2300 system. Unfortunately my controller broke and Logitech doesn't do replacement parts. I was wondering if I would be able to wire my subwoofer to my stock car stereo system for a 2007 Jeep Wrangler covering all points of power, amplification and bass control. Thanks

Answer
The Logitech Z-2300  is a 2.1 system which has a powered subwoofer (subwoofer speaker in a box wherein the box also contains an amplifier to feed the woofer).

When you say "controller" are you talking about the sub volume control?  If so, it is easily repaired or replaced with generic parts probably.

But, this Logitech Z-2300  is a home stereo product and they don't work well in automobile environments.  That being said, you could pull the sub out of the box and use it in the car so long as you had a power source to drive it.  You may need an additional 12v audio amp to do the job.  But, the amplifier in the Logitech Z-2300  is based on 120v ac power (US model), not 12v.

Not too sure where you were going with your question, so please clarify if you need further discussion.
