Audio Systems: RV Audio/Video installation, audio video installation, 300w inverter

Question
Hello,

I've installed a 19" LCD television/DVD combo unit in my RV but the road noise is so load you can't hear the sound from the TV.
I purchased an 200W audio amp and want to output the sound in the overhead mounted ceiling speakers, but now have noticed the TV has no audio out.  I'm getting ready to buy a separate DVD player to output the sound to the overhead, but I don't think most DVD players have a volume control.
What component would I need to install so I can output the sound from a DVD player into the coach speakers so the kids can watch movies while driving down the road.
I should mention that I running a 300W inverter to run the DVD player and TV off the RV 12V system and the Amp is direct wired to the coach 12V system as well.  What ever gets installed would have to pull from the 12V system so I don't have to run the generator while driving.

Answer
ONE: Does the tv have a headphone output? If so, you can use an adapter cable to feed that into the amplifier.  If not, and you want audio feed from the tv you will have to get another tv that DOES have the audio out (And, most audio outs from tv sets are fixed output without volume control either!).

TWO:  You can add a volume controller in front of the power amps with remote control for easy volume or loudness management but you may end up with two remotes; one for the dvd player and one for the volume control.

THREE:  I would recommend you source a small receiver or preamp that has the volume control function.  Either 12v or 120v could be used as the power requirement would be very small.

Don't know if the solves your dilemma or not; let me know if you need more.
