Audio Systems: Surround sound problem with Bose V30 system, centre speakers, double cube

Question
Hi,
I have a new Bose V30 system (5 double cube speakers and the Accoustimas 'subwoofer').  I use an iMac as the source providing an optical input into the Bose receiver.

All wiring is correct per simple colour coding into the Accoustimas and when I run the test CD, via the iMac, both front and centre speakers are correctly identified but each rear channel test sends equal signal out of four speakers (front right, front left, rear right and rear left).

I assume that is not normal.  I am 100% postive wiring connections are right.  Any advice appreciated..

regards,

Clayton

Answer
Recheck the settings on the control.  You may not have it in 5.1 sound setting.

And, try a hard reset; unplug the power cord for 30 minutes and try again.

And, I know you have checked the wiring, but using an output instead of an input will sometimes do this combining effect.

Lastly, try pulling one or more of the cables to see which one does or does not drop out....   Experimentation is often the best troubleshooting tool.

Let me know if you need more after doing these checks.
