Audio Systems: speaker removal, moisture barrier, arm rest

I have a 2005 yukon. the front speakers are blown. Is it necessary to remove the whole door panel to get them out?

Yes.  But it isn't so difficult.  The panel is fastened with clips and screws.  Under the arm rest or inside the armrest pocket there should be some screws that need removal.  A pictorial and instructions can be seen at:

This web page is for repair/replacement of the mirror, but it shows how to remove the door panel.

Once the speaker is removed, be careful to keep the plastic moisture barrier in place; if you get water in the speaker is won't be long until it will need replacement again.
