Audio Systems: Ford/JBL DSP, ford jbl, digital signal processor

Question
Thanks for quick reply. The Digital Signal Processor, was not on the factory order list of options nor was any info shown at dealership about it, but the broker that got me the car knew all about it and had it installed by "Technicar" of Oldsmar , Florida 813-855-0022. I called them and will take car in next week as they say many guys have worked there for over twenty years and will remember unit as many were installed by them. They deal only in factory approved parts installations and factory warranty work. As, for the DSP it is a small control head with one wire coming from behind dash receiver, It has lighted display for Hall, Church, Opera Club, Stadium and my fav. Orchestra, also has talk  mode that make speech very clear. It adds considerable watts to system and is more effective than the DSP on my $2,000 Yamaha 2070(1992) a/v receiver! The numbers on the back of the head are_Commander F2LF-18C831-AA. Head is about 1"x1 1/2". Really miss fullness it gives to music! I'll let you know what Technicar comes up with.
Thanks again
Russ

-----Question-----
I have a 1993 Thunderbird LX with the JBL premium sound system and had a Ford authorized DSP unit installed after receiving the car. The DSP just quit working, it seems the radio and cassette deck work fine but their is no light on in the DSP remote wired head. Also I don't think the sub-woofer is working either. Any thoughts? Is there a separate fuse for the DSP? I had the sub speaker reconed two years ago and every thing else seems to work fine.
Thanks,
Russ
-----Answer-----
i am familiar with the jbl radio and the optional cd player also the factory jbl amplifiers
but i don't remmeber the DSP unit  do you have a ford part number ?

Answer
i remember now   it was made by sony  ( SONY DSP ) go in the trunk there is a box next to the jbl amplifier look for the sony logo  un plug the unit and plug again if that don't work
you need a tester or metter to look for power on the ornage and green wire i don't believe that was a fuse for it  but the plug sometimes didn;t make a good contact or the cables broke in side the unit at front
good luck
