Audio Systems: do you need a sterio for an amplifire, rca inputs, car amplifiers

hi,
i am thinking of installing a an amplifire in my car but i would like to have to sterion in the car, my plan is to use it with my iPod. is there any way this could be done?

you dont nessesarilly need a stereo for an amplifier.  an amplifier will amplify any source.  the ipod has a headphone output which we can connect straight into the RCA inputs of an amplifier using this adapter:

then you would just use the volume control on the Ipod to adjust the volume since car amplifiers have no volume control and are at full blast all the time.
