Audio Systems: my subwoofers, power acoustik amp, amplfier

Question
i have 2 12" power acoustik subs and a 1000 watt power acoustik amp and yesterday instead of having each sub wired seperatly into the amp i connected theme both and bridged the wiring and it seemed to make it LOUDER is this a good thing or bad thing?

Answer
if the amplfier is  1 ohm or 2 ohms stable it is ok
but if the amplfier is a 2 channel and it is bridge down it can only go down to 4 ohms  
if the speakers are single coil you when down to 2 ohms
if the speakers are dual coils you are going down to 1 ohms
if the amplfier is 4 ohms stable you can burn it look at all the specs
