-----Question-----
Hi I was wondering what I would need to hook up my car cd deck and a audiobanh amp model #a8002t powering 2 single voice coil infinity kappa perfect 12.1 subwoofers, what would I need to power this and how would i hook it all up? I cant seem to find a guide on this on any sites.

Thanks,

the cd deck would be easy to run indoors since it has a maxiumum current draw of 10 amps but the amplifier is rated to draw up to 60 amps which is a bit hard to come by.  you are either going to need to spend about $150 on power supplies to run it comfortably, or you're going to have to have a car battery indoors with 1 power supply to keep it charged.  probably still ending up costing about $150 and if the power supply cant keep the battery charged and the battery starts loosing power (amplifier pulls the power out faster than the charger can replentish it) then the system is goign to shut off while it's being played.
typically an amplifier that draws about 30 amps can be run indoors but 60 is tough.

typcially what I recomend to run amps indoors is these guys:

I've gotten some feedback from others that have successfully run their car amps on these.  you'll need at least 2, they are rated for 34 amps at 12 volts. so 2 in parallel could theoretically make 68 amps.  problem is that when you turn your amplifier on its going to pull a surge which might trigger these to shut off even though they are rated for a good amount of current.  The other problem is that they are 12 volt supplies not 13.8. your amplifier is really designed for 13.8 optimally so at 12 volts your amplifier will draw more current and not perform at it's peak.  These supplies are made for computers so there's a ton of unnessary wires.  If you get them, please write back and I'll be happy to tell you how to hook them up.
You can try it and it will probably work, maybe even work well but I'm just trying to let you know there's drawbacks and it's not as easy as everyone wants it to be.  trust me i've tried!
Good luck!

well again, it all comes down to how many AMPS your equipment draws.  a dvd player isnt going to draw much, this is why he was able to do it. a regulated power supply just means that its filtered to stay close to 13.8 if the voltage in fluctuates.  the power supplies I recomended are very well regulated.  You're asking me to recomend one and I already did.  what else can I help you with?

Answer
yeah, it seems like a great idea when you think about it but when it all comes down to it, it doesnt work so well.  its more like; there's stuff made for specific purposes and it's becuase it works best for those purposes, know what I mean? car stuff is made for the car for a reason and home stuff vice versa.
so, yeah looking forward to when you write back.
