Audio Systems: Chrysler Infinity Speaker, infinity speaker, dodge dakota

My son blew a speaker in the front door of my 2001 Dodge Dakota and I brought it to a store and was told that I could not replace just one of the speakers, I would have to replace at least the 2 front door speakers. Is this true? You can't get one with a similar draw? The back of the speaker says:

The cost for two similar speakers was well over $200. If this is so, what would a good replacement be? Thank you.

Hogwash, you can replace speakers one at a time if you want. Go to a wreckers and buy an exact replacement. What the sales associate was doing was telling you his store only sell speakers in pairs. BTW, $200 is pretty steep for front speakers, I hope that was an installed price!
My recommendation; Buy some speakers the correct size, for a reasonable price, and do the work yourself.
