Audio Systems: Over heating amp, audiobahn a8000t, mono block

Question
Hey about a week ago i got a kick ass system everything is perfect i have 4 tweeters and 2 subs on a mono block amp, but the only problem i am haing is that after about 15 minutes. The amp (audiobahn a8000t)cuts off because of heat. Is there anyway i can improve on the cooling of my trunk so the amp can handle a little more?

Answer
the amp should overheat unless:
1. the ohms of the speakers are wrong and overloading it
2. the ground connection to the amp is a poor ground
3. you are running it to its max.

the cure for option 1 is to tell me the model and number of subs the amp is running.  if you can tell me how you wired the coils that will help as well.

The cure for option 2 is make sure the hole you drilled thorugh the body of the car where you attached your ground isnt rusty or painted or loose.  You need to sand all paint and rust off and lock it down HARD.

Cure for option 3 is TURN IT DOWN A LITTLE!!! Or get a bigger amp.  if you are pushing the amp to the max you may be causing it to clip which will damage your speakers as well.

Let me know the sub model number and how many you have, this will help.
