Audio Systems: Radio reception, radio cassette player, alligator clip

Question
Good afternoon,

For the last three weeks, I have not been able to get a certain radio station to come in at work.  I don't know why!  It's my local CBS station that has a radio station and specifically I cannot get Dr. Phil to come in!!!  Oh no!  haha, I'm an addict!  I thought, well, I will just find it online (online radio?) and well, that has been impossible.  So is there any advice you can give me on getting better reception on just a little "boombox" type radio/cassette player?  It's in a 6 story office building.  It's always worked but not the last three weeks...I guess more clouds/cold/whatever?  Is there any gadget in the store for better reception that actually works?

Thanks!

Kris

Answer
if it's an am station, the only thing you can do is reposition the radio to a place away from excessive wiring or flourescent lighting. if it's a fm station, you might try a 6 foot piece of wire with an alligator clip on one end attached to the end of your antenna.
