Audio Systems: Best home stereo headphones, cordless headphones, interference issues

Question
I know you don't review every possible option, but I would like to know what do you consider to be a good value home stereo headphones?  I'm not an audiohead, so I don't need some $300 headset.  I figure there should be a good option in the $50 - $100 range.  I would like strong, undistorted bass response, and a 20KHz high end.  In the past I've always done very well with Koss or Sennheiser.   Stereo stores in my area don't seem to stock many items, and trying them out does not seem to be an option.  Second question: corded vs. cordless headphones.  Cordless certainly has appeal from the point of mobility, but I get a sense on the Web that they don't work as well...bad bass performance and/or interference issues.   Thoughts?
Thanks.

Answer
Dear Ken,

My choice in headphones is Grado. Their affordable line is the SR-60 ($70), SR-80 ($95), and SR-125 ($150), all of which have the frequency response you desire. You can get Grados at www.audioadvisor.com. I use the SR-60.

I don't yet recommend wireless 'phones. Too many RFI issues, spotty frequency response, etc. At some point wireless technology in audio--which requires gobs of bandwidth compared to fairly common applications like garage door openers, wifi, and blue tooth--will catch up to the rest of the world, but it's not there yet.

Good luck. And thanks for choosing allexperts.com!

Kindest regards,

Kevin
