Audio Systems: Radio on Alpine CDE-7870, reset circuits, radio cuts

Question
I have a CDE-7870 that's 2 years old in a '97 Accord.  Lately, I've had a pop or squelch in the speakers and then the radio cuts out.  CD's play just fine, but no sound from AM or FM, although the display still shows the frequency.

If I power down the unit, remove the faceplate, and then reattach it and power up, the radio will again function for an undetermined amount of time.  The frequency with which this happens has increased in the last week.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Answer
John,
It's possible that something in the reset circuits is at fault. Without actually looking at the stereo it would be hard to say exactly what the cause of the problem is. If the problem gets to a point when you can't listen to the radio you may want to have a service shop check it out.
