Question -
I have a 2002 Nissan Sentra.  It has a stock CD Player in it.  The front pillars and two front speakers are stock.  The two back speakers are Infinity 6.5 Kappa.  Today while driving I was listening to a CD and then all of a sudden sound stopped coming from every speaker, stock and aftermarket.  There is still power going to the CD Deck but no sound is coming out at all not even static.  Can you help with this problem?

Answer -
Taylor,
If the stock stereo uses an external amp, the amp may have failed? if not the amp/s inside the stock head unit could have failed or they may be muted for some reason.

Answer
Taylor,
If you added extra speakers recently they may have over loaded the amps inside the factory head unit. To test for defective amps or a muted output you will have to pull the stereo out of the dash and power it up on a work bench to troubleshoot the problem. You may want to check out local auto salvage yards to see if they have a stereo that will fit your vehicle, however this may cost more than having your existing stereo repaired.
