I got problem with a Bose system.
I was told that it was a bad output on the CD/Radio, so this was changed.

But the problem is still there, almost no sound.
And only sound in the rear speaker.

There is one big contact in to the amplifier.
Is it somthing I can messure for to check if it is a amplifier problem?
Wiring diagram would have been nise...

AMP ASSY W140
140 820 08 09
140 158
S/N 000768

Is it more components hidden in this loop?

In the trunk there is one box with Becker Radio, I asume this is from the original radio.

The system have 12 speakers.

And this original fader control in the center consol seams to be bypassed. Is this normal.

I think the Bose system is factory monted.

Thanks for any tips for trouble shooting!

Jan,
before I can give you any info about the sound system in your vehicle I will need the following info. The make, model and year of your vehicle and the complete model numbers of the stereo head unit. I will need this info to look up the correct service manual with the wiring diagrams of the head unit and for the amp.

Tom,

Thanks for your answer!

First of all I tougth this question would have been posted on the web page.
I found your answer in the E-mail from AllExperts!

The car is a 1991 model Mercedes Benz S 600 (ore 600 SE)

The new head unit is a Panasonic CQ-C1110GN S/N 1163873

There is a fuse box in the trunk with fuse number 16 for the amplifier, this one is checked ok and there is a relay klicking in the amlifier if I pull this fuse in and out.

Thanks!

Answer
Jan,
Had the system been working ok previously? If so then you need to check the following wiring. If you have the owners manual with the install info in it, check out what wire color from the stereo are used for what. If the wires from the Panasonic stereo are connected into an adapter plug that connects to the factory stereo connector, write down what colors in the factory connector that connect to each of the four outputs from the head unit. The wire colors/pairs will be the same color at the input to the amp. This Pioneer stereo has a 4X45 watt output so it may be connected to a high level to low level adapter before the outputs go into the amp? There is a good possibility that a defective connection is causing the no sound problem. The best way to find out what is wrong is to actually trace the speaker wires from the head unit all the way back to the amp. When you locate each input to the amp from the head unit you can use a cheap set of head phones and clip them to each input to the amp one at a time and listen for sound from the head unit for that channel, LF-RF-RR-LR
