Audio Systems: Alpine Car Stereo, alpine car stereo, dirt buildup

I have an Alpine CD car stereo, model CDM-7834.  I have had it working for a while but now, it will not play a traditional CD.  When you insert a CD all it does is eject the CD back out.  I have opened up the unit and dusted it out.  The unit does not even seem to have enough time to read the CD before it ejects.  The CD spins up for a second then is ejected.  Any simple possible solutions?

Hello Andy,
Try cleaning the laser lense with a Qtip just moistened with rubbing alcohol. Jently! rub the lense to remove any dust/dirt buildup on it. If the lense is dirty the the reflected signal will not see the (TOC) table of contents of the CD and the unit will eject the CD. If cleaning does not help the laser pickup will need to be replaced.
