Audio Systems: Mitsubishi MMCS, electronic compass, reversing camera

Dear Sir

I have just purchased a year 2000 Pajero/Montero as a direct import from Japan, I have a problem with the stereo that I know to be called officially as a Mitsubishi Multi Communication System (MMCS) "it is all in Japanese".

It is a fantastic system incorporating a LCD display that controls a CD multichanger in the boot, a radio, a cassette player, a sat nav system, a MD player, a rear reversing camera and a TV, the LCD also has the control functions for the air con. electronic compass etc etc and as you can appreciate I am reluctant to let such a comprehensive system go, and would rather spend the money trying to get this set-up working than have another installed.

I was wondering if you have come across this type of system before and if you have, what is needed to convert it to English.

   from my just basic knowledge of systems i dont know nor have heard of converting from language to language unless its a PC based system with a central processory such as a computer that can be reprogrammed .. the best tip i can give you is to give mitsubishi's US customer service line a call and ask them if it is possible . but i can fully understand of the reason not to let it go and replace since everything you will ever need is right there .. but give them a call they should be able to get you a number or information on the conversion if its possible .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know
