Audio Systems: Static Coming Out Of Speakers From Receiver..., bench test, pioneer vsx

Question
Hi,
I have a Pioneer VSX-7300 A/V Receiver, (about 15 years old), and just had a question on why a "staticky" noise is coming out of my front speakers. I have checked the speaker connections, as well as the speaker wire......all seem to be in good condition and corrosion-free, as far as I can see. I just can't seem to put my finger on this small but tedious problem. I was hoping that someone here would know what I'm talking about and have a possible solution on how to remedy this particular nuisance....thanks.

Hope to read from someone soon,

Answer
Dear H.E.,

Older equipment gets dirty, bumped around, and worn out. You probably have some connections working loose inside the receiver. I suggest that you take it to a qualified repair facility for a bench test and cleaning.

However, once you find out what they charge, you may just want to consider getting a new receiver.

Kindest regards,

Kevin
