Audio Systems: Kenwood kdc-9017 powering up problem, tech support

I have the 2001 Kenwood kdc-9017 that will make noise like it is about to eject a cd (upon start up of the car), the face will flip down and then nothing. My understanding is that it is getting "no power". It folds down then stops, NO DISPLAY. I will be able to fix this myself, i just need to know what to look for/fix. THANKS!! -this unit was purchased brand new and has never been opened up

  humm well pull the unit out and check all the wires make sure everything is connection tight and insulated with tape ect.. now if you cant find anything wrong with the wiring i would give kenwoods tech support a ring ask them if they have heard of this problem before it might be a defect and it needs to be sent in for repairs but they should be able to let you know what action to take .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know
