Audi Repair: gears for automatic, transmission control module, car wont start

On the dash board it highlights what gear its in, when its in park it doesnt light up so the car wont start, when it high lights park it will start. had diagnostic test done and it came up with codes 01119 gear reconition signal and 01315 transmission control module, suspected transmission contol module faulty. I was given a part number of 01j927156ds  please help

If it sometimes detects the transmission being in park, then a module fault is not likely, but a switch in the side of the transmission sounds much more likely.  Befroe exchanging the TCM, I would check the switch (and the plugs to it) which detects the gear position and sends the signal to the TCM...  Let me know,  Jan
