Audi Repair: Turn Signals Out, Hazzards Work, signal unit, audi a6

I have an Audi A6 2.7T 2001. The turn signals do not work yet the hazards do. If you hold the turn signal lever down 1/2 way you can hear strange noises in the center dash (by the radio) and I did turn the radio off to verify the noise was not the radio. Any ideas? Thank you.

Sounds like the turn signal lever is making bad contact.  You can take this off (careful with airbag removal procedure) and check the connectiosn from one side to the other, these sometimes get loose and people replace the turn signal unit even though it just needs these contacts tightening up.  But it is of course possible you need a new turn siganl unit...  Let me know,  Jan
